First Day Covers

Collecting Ecuador First Day Covers is another format to start your collection. These envelopes are stamped when the first day of emissions are announced by the postal service. Some first day covers are colorful and display some neat markings of the cancellation stamp.

Some of Ecuador FDC (First Day Cover) contain a bulletin, or a pamphlet.  This bulletin has useful information about the stamp itself such as history and a synopsis of the artwork. It also shows the print run and type of printing used.  These bulletins can be seen as early as 1982.

To preserve the longevity of the envelope, a good storing technique must be considered.  Start by housing the envelopes in non-pvc clear plastic sleeve.  These types of sleeves are sold at your local Coin-Stamp shop.  You can also obtain them from Photo Service stores.
